When I got home form school i found my step-mom sitting at the kitchen counter and it looked like shed been crying. i said hi and asked if she was ok, she told she was fine but that step-dad had just had to leave on a last minute business trip. i did my best to comfort her, i told her we could hang out and i would make dinner for us tonight, she gave me a big hug and thanked me. when we were done with dinner i did the dishes then went to fin my step-mom,she was in her bedroom, laying on the bed and reading a book. we made a little small talk and i could tell she was still feeling down, so i...
