Hans, a young German journalist, arrives in London to write an article about au pairs, but friends ask him to investigate the whereabouts of a girl named Greta. He interviews four people who all paint distinctly different images of the girl, each revealing a different aspect or dimension. These reminiscences make up the 3D sequences of the film. Hans finally tracks down Greta and discovers that she is in the East End.
