At St. Trinian's, the army monitors a group of girls to be placed in a marriage office hoping to marry one of them to Prince Bruno. As the prince will only make a decision if the girls are brought to him before July, Harry decides to take advantage of a UNESCO offer to the government, which will include a paid tour of various European cities that will conclude in Rome. Shortly thereafter, Harry learns that the Ministry is sending a new director recruited from Australia, Dame Maud Hackshaw, who they suspect will withdraw their appointment. The night she is supposed to arrive, Harry is surprised when one of the girls who form her, Myrna Mangan, reveals that her step-father Joe needs help. Discovering that the local police are looking for him, on the orders of Superintendent Kemp-Bird, Harry and Myrna decide to disguise him as Hackshaw. Meanwhile, a bogus letter from Hackshaw is sent to the Ministry, recommending that they join the girls on the UNESCO tour. With no choice, they decide to accept the request and look for volunteers to accompany the girl and act as interpreters. Superintendent Kemp-Bird, who is reprimanded for failing to find Mangan - as he is wanted, receives news from the St. Trinian Ministry of Plans. He decides to hire Sergeant Ruby Gates to go undercover as an interpreter, while advising the Ministry to secure buses from a company belonging to Captain Romney Carlton-Ricketts, as it is the only bus company that will transport the girls mainly out of desperation. As the girls prepare to leave, Mangan discovers that she must remain in disguise and accompany the girls on their tour. The girls soon wreak havoc when visiting cities on the tour, including Paris and Vienna. During this time, Romney makes a comedy for Gates due to her cover story of her, but when they reach Rome, she admits the truth, revealing that she discovered Mangan among the girls. When the girls prepare to play a game of water polo before Bruno, chaos breaks out when Mangan loses the ball and to take it back. As he escapes with it, he is chased by the girls of the fourth form, who capture him at the Colosseum. When Prince Bruno announces his plans to marry Myrna, much to the annoyance of one of his sixth form mates, St. Trinian's receives the reward for capturing Mangan, which Miss Fritton keeps to herself. Meanwhile, Gates now returned to England.
