Rural France 1429; The Abbot is furious when Anna is caught stealing one of the Abbey's chickens. He makes the wretched serving girl strip and bend over the back of a chair. He then produces his favourite red cane and waves it in her face. He is shocked when she tries to kiss the cane. With no further ado, he proceeds to give the girls a really sound beating.
