Her Roommate is already helping her change her clothes because it's so difficult getting everything off and on her casted leg. Her roommate offers to paint the toes on her casted foot to make them look pretty since they will be exposed. Connie is going to wear hose and a closed heel on her one good foot so she is going to leave those toes as they are. Her friend picks a pretty color they both agree on, shoves cotton between Connie's toes and begins painting them. Meanwhile Connie picks out a black dress and black shoes to wear that will contrast with her cast and newly painted toes. When the pedicure is complete Connie gets into her black dress and checks out her newly colored toes against her one black platform shoe.
