A cop comes to Stephie’s door because he’s canvassing the neighborhood looking for witnesses of a string of robberies in the area. While he’s talking to her in the doorway, he sniffs the air and then barges into her apartment. He smells and has a reasonable suspicion that she’s breaking the law and needs to search her apartment.
