Lucy is in detention on a Friday afternoon with Miss Scarlet, and it is not the only day she has been in detention this week. Miss Scarlet thinks that Lucy requires more than just lines to improve her behaviour.

Miss Scarlet pick up her cane, swishing it through the air she tells Lucy that it will ensure she will not be back in detention again. Lucy is instructed to say "Thank you, Miss" after each stoke otherwise the number of strokes will increase. Lucy is very stubborn and earns herself additional stokes until she earns herself 18 strokes of the cane. She is very careful to follow instruction after that as she receives the hard cane strokes on her bare bottom.

Lucy is told to pull up her two pairs of underwear over her pink, striped and bruised bottom.
