Jayne has been handcuffed and chained up in the garage. There's no way out of those restraints other than using a key to unlock the cuffs. Just such a key is suspended on a wire, close enough for Jayne to reach with her mouth. She seems to be in with a chance of getting free until she drops the key on the floor, rendering it completely out of reach.
