Alanna made a terrible mistake, she succumbed to passion in a moment of weakness and cheated on her longtime boyfriend. He found out and now he doesn't want to talk to her anymore, and she tries to cover her sadness with cigarettes. She smoked so many cigarettes that her lungs are so screwed up that she can't stop coughing. Her cough sounds awful and she doesn't like cigarettes anymore but she continues to light one after another because it's the only thing that seems to help her not burst into tears.
