I arrive at the transept, where the side chapels once stood. They are now used as exhibition rooms, with contemporary works of art that contrast with the Gothic architecture of the building. I pause in front of a metal sculpture, which represents a deformed and suffering human figure. I wonder what a believer would once have thought when faced with a similar work.
I continue my exploration, discovering hidden corners and unexpected details. A spiral staircase leads me to a balcony, from which I can admire the entire church from above. The view is breathtaking, but also melancholy. I realize how much this place has changed, how much its original function has been distorted.

Entro in punta di piedi, come se potessi ancora disturbare la sacralità che un tempo permeava queste mura. L'aria è densa di storia, di preghiere silenziose, di canti sommessi. Alzo lo sguardo verso l'alto, dove un tempo si ergeva l'altare, ora sostituito da un palcoscenico moderno. Le vetrate colorate, un tempo raffiguranti scene bibliche, sono state sostituite da opere d'arte astratte, che proiettano fasci di luce multicolore sul pavimento in marmo.
Percorro la navata centrale, i miei passi echeggiano nel silenzio. Le panche in legno, un tempo occupate da fedeli in preghiera, sono ora disposte in modo disordinato, come se fossero state abbandonate in fretta. Le pareti, un tempo affrescate con scene di santi e martiri, sono ora spoglie, mostrando i segni del tempo e dell'abbandono.
Arrivo al transetto, dove un tempo si trovavano le cappelle laterali. Ora sono adibite a sale espositive, con opere d'arte contemporanea che contrastano con l'architettura gotica dell'edificio. Mi soffermo davanti a una scultura in metallo, che rappresenta una figura umana deforme e sofferente. Mi chiedo cosa avrebbe pensato un tempo un fedele di fronte a un'opera simile.
Proseguo la mia esplorazione, scoprendo angoli nascosti e dettagli inaspettati. Una scala a chiocciola mi conduce a una balconata, da cui posso ammirare l'intera chiesa dall'alto. La vista è mozzafiato, ma anche malinconica. Mi rendo conto di quanto questo luogo sia cambiato, di quanto la sua funzione originaria sia stata stravolta.
Adoro stare in posti sconsacrati come questo, adoro mostrarti le mie grosse tette ed i miei grossi fianchi mentre mi accarezzo con lascività in questo strano spazio. Quanto odio Dio quanto amo bestemmiarlo in questi luoghi!
Esco dalla chiesa eccitata e bagnata con un senso di smarrimento e di curiosità. Mi chiedo quale sarà il futuro di questo luogo, se riuscirà a trovare una nuova identità, un nuovo scopo. Ma soprattutto, mi chiedo cosa ne sarà della sua anima, di quel senso di sacro che un tempo lo permeava.
