Nurse Britney is walking down a hallway alone, when she pauses, and grabs the right side of her abdomen. She leans up against the wall momentarily, before she begins walking again. Britney takes a few more steps before pausing again. This time, she lowers her surgical mask to get some air before putting the surgical mask back on. Nurse Britney is walking down a hallway alone, when she pauses, and grabs the right side of her abdomen. She leans up against the wall momentarily, before she begins walking again. Britney takes a few more steps before pausing again. This time, she lowers her surgical mask to get some air before putting the surgical mask back on. After a few more steps down the hallway, Britney feels a lot of pain in her abdomen. She starts breathing heavily, and moans from the pain, before her eyes roll back, and she faints from appendicitis. In the next scene, Nurse Britney is now patient Britney in the preop holding area, wearing a blue bouffant cap, a gown, and a blanket to keep her warm. The nurse places an 02 mask on her, checks her pulse, and transports her to the OR. Britney is then wheeled down the hallway to the OR. In the OR, Britney's 02 mask is removed, and she begins to regain consciousness, moaning in pain. After Britney is prepped, a black rubber mask is placed on her face and the surgical team begins the intubation process. Surgery begins after Britney's abdomen is prepped. Britney's appendix turns out to be a bleeder, and the surgical team works feverishly on her. Her appendix is removed, but Britney goes into cardiac arrest. The head nurse starts CPR immediately with deep and strong chest compressions. The defibrillator charges but there is no response with the first shock. Following many cycles of CPR and Defibs, her pulse returns. the team extubates Britney, and places the 02 mask on her. In the final scene, Britney is laying in the recovery room still wearing her pink bouffant cap and an 02 mask, while her cap covered head is laying softly on a pillow. The team monitors her very carefully, as she softly moans under the 02 mask. Her pupils are checked and the team advises Britney how the surgery went, and that she will be in the hospital for the next few days. Britney's speech is still slurred. A must see film for surgery and OR fans! A very detailed surgery film with many close ups on equipments in use, deep and strong chest compressions and more defibrillations.
