She is already intubated when this clip begins and is now hooked up to the heart monitor. A BP cuff is placed as are the urine and rectal catheters. The surgeon marks her abdomen and inserts the speculum. As the procedure begins, suddenly the heart monitor alerts an asystole and the med team starts the CPR procedure. The defibrillator is charged but there is no response. The medical team must performs many more cycles of resus routine until finally the patient's pulse returns to normal rhythm. The med team cancels the operation for the time being and and will transport the patient into the ICU.
