Kim Chi is a lovely and bright young lady, but sometimes, her behavior is less than responsible. She is quite smart, and there is absolutely no reason why she shouldn't get all As in school. And as long as she puts in the effort, she does always gets As in school.

But sometimes, Kim doesn't put in the effort. That's why when she gets a B on any test or paper, she gets grounded: it's both a disincentive, and it allows her time to catch up on her school. Two birds yada yada.
