Because Kitty was never given a key or the responsibility of locking up at the end of the night, she doesn't have to be punished. But because she was with Kim when the gym was left unlocked, and one day might be given a key of her own, it was important she witness the punishment she should expect if she ever fails to take care of such rudimentary responsibilities.

Kitty is thankful that she doesn't have to be spanked, but finding it almost as painful having to sit there and watch while Kim gets a big spanking right in front of her.
