Forget about buying your wife flowers, chocolates, jewelry or anything else nice. It's so much more fun to not get her anything and treat me instead. Take whatever you would have spent on your partner's gift and send it to me instead. You can tell her you don't want to support consumerism, whatever you need to. She's going to hate you, but oh well. That's not my problem.
