Amber Deen has brought an assortment of shoes to the laboratory to see which ones maximize her comfort and control of the pedals of a stickshift car. She begins by working each of the pedals in a pair of flat-heeled thong Jelly sandals, then moves on to some elegant sandals that seem impossibly tall for her tiny size 4 feet. She followed these with a pair of lace-up sandals with blocks heels that are nearly as high as the previous pair. Finally, she works each of the pedals with her bare feet. Which will she prefer?
