The first of two films by Franz Josef Gottlieb supposedly based on the works of the Dutch gynecologist Van de Velde. A forerunner of the more popular Schoolgirl Report pseudo-documentaries, Gottlieb "Van de Velde's" films sought to take a scientific approach to various sexual discoveries within relationships. Going the documentary route would have allowed Gottlieb (and other filmmakers of the time) to introduce more explicit and daring subject matter not normally shown in Germany during this time period.
