Dr Kirwood runs a strict finishing school for young ladies and is a great believer in the motto Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds. Thus the young ladies in his charge are expected to partake in some healthy exercise every day. One day the girls are expected to undertake a long run, but his three worst pupils take a short cut and visit a pub on the way. They are reported again to Dr Kirwood. The good doctor is furious with them yet again and yet again gives all three a sound beating. (CA96)
