Candy’s sudden cardiac arrest story continues. The AED is charged and following the shock Candy’s pulse returns. The paramed arrives. They examine Candy, inserts an IV, place the BP cuff and 3 lead electrodes and an O2 mask too. They listen to her heartbeat with steth. Candy whispers to them but suddenly starts gasping for air and her heart goes into Vfib again and collapses. The medical team starts the resus procedure immediately with the CPR (strong compressions) and ambu bagging her. The AED pads are still on her chest so they use it again but there is no response. Following some cycles of CPR and ambu bagging they remove the AED pads from her chest and uses the manual defibrillator they've brought. It is charged, but there is no response. They have to intubate her. It is not easy, as her larynx has constricted . Finally after a few tries they manage to insert the ET tube and continue the resuscitation procedure with many cycles of CPR, bagging and defibrillations. Finally her pulse returns and she opens her eyes. She is now ready to transport to the hospital.
